Hawzah News Agency- Hojatoleslam Navaei, a senior lecturer at the Khorasan Seminary, made the remarks on the sidelines of the 11th Specialized Exhibition of Seminary Books and Islamic Teachings in an interview with a Hawzah News Agency correspondent in Mashhad.
Highlighting the importance of books and reading, he said the exhibition offers a glimpse of pure scriptures and valuable books, inspiring a sense of enthusiasm and motivation as it improves every year.
He added that this improvement is visible in both quantity and quality, and expressed his gratitude to those behind this valuable effort.
Quantitative, Qualitative Growth in Works on Display
Noting that this year's exhibition has seen quantitative and qualitative growth compared to last year and previous years, Hojatoleslam Navaei explained that quantitative growth refers to the number of books entering the publishing arena and being displayed, in which a good increase is being witnessed.
He continued that the works on display have also improved qualitatively, which is a blessing for the Khorasan Seminary as it presents outstanding and valuable publications that cover and respond to the current needs of the seminary.
The senior lecturer noted that this is an important matter worthy of congratulations and prayers so that the trend continues to improve in the coming years.
Book Topics Up-to-Date, Aligned with Seminary Needs
Referring to the topics of the books published for the exhibition, Hojatoleslam Navaei said the subjects are up-to-date, and this is clearly felt.
He added that interdisciplinary jurisprudence, interdisciplinary philosophy, foundational and principles-related issues, as well as foundational theological, philosophical, mystical and historical discussions are among the topics that have a significant presence among the works on display.
The senior lecturer at the Khorasan Seminary continued that the topics of the books have become very up-to-date, and if one considers the collection of works available at the exhibition, a significant portion of them are fully current, which is noteworthy.
He expressed hope that the trend would eventually extend to all works and topics.
Need for Foresight in Producing Seminary Works
Hojatoleslam Navaei, referring to the importance of foresight in producing seminary works, said one of the issues that must be considered in books is future-oriented thinking, as well as making works accessible to the public and paying attention to people's language — two matters of great importance.
The senior lecturer stressed that attention must be paid to whether these books are written solely for professors and specialized audiences; because while responding to the needs of professors and academic and specialized audiences is very important, another part of the output of these works is used in the social arena.
Attention to General Audience Alongside Specialized Works
Hojatoleslam Navaei said he suggests that the Research Center and the Deputy for Scientific and Research Affairs also pay attention to public language and the general audience, so that the audience of the works is not solely specialized, academic and technical. He also stressed the need to pay attention to current language and people's language alongside specialized works.
In conclusion, the senior lecturer at the Khorasan Seminary wished success and prosperity for those organizing the exhibition, noting the importance of paper and book pricing.
